How do I get to Xavier Institute of Management from Bhubaneswar Railway station/Airport?
The best way would be to take an auto rickshaw/taxi. Mention the drop of point as Xavier Institute of Management. If the driver does not understand, ask him to take you to Fortune Towers / Xavier Square, Jayadev Vihar. The drivers tend to slightly overcharge. Remember to negotiate prices with them before to take the ride. A map can be downloaded at the end of this page.

When I reach the campus where would I have to report?
Please report at the security desk at GR-1.
Do I need to bring an iron box along or is there a facility inside the campus?
You may not bring an iron box with you. However, there is a person who does laundry and irons clothes on the road just opposite to the college gate.
Do I need to buy a mattress?
Yes. Only a cot would be provided. You can buy a mattress from the stores opposite to the campus
Is there a shop from where we could buy essential amenities near the campus?
Yes. We also have a store inside the canteen/campus called X-Café inside the campus.
Are coolers/ACs allowed inside hostel rooms?
No. The wiring in the hostel rooms is not designed for heavy electric loads. The usage of such appliances may cause overloads and is potential fire hazard. Students are strictly forbidden from using ACs/coolers/heaters etc. inside the rooms.
Are there any AC rooms available as it was not mentioned in the mail?
No.
Do I have the option of exchanging room partners among ourselves, once the rooms have been allotted randomly?
No. Switching rooms is not allowed. Alternative rooms may be provided to students on medical grounds only.
What about washing machines? Do we need to pay to use them?
The institute provides washing machines in every hostel block. They are free of charge.
Are personal vehicles are allowed?
Yes. Those who wish to keep and use their personal vehicle inside the campus need to fill and submit the necessary form at the Main Gate Security Office. Photo copy of RC book and driving license are required for this purpose. There are designated parking spaces for two wheelers.
Is there a dress code at XIMB? What is appropriate formal wear for men/ladies?

What do I do if I do not have any of the documents required at the time of joining?
It is best to have all the necessary documents at the time of joining. However, if you are unable to produce any one/more of the documents, you may give an application at the time of registration seeking an extension in date for submitting the same.
Who would be the appropriate person to attest the required documents mentioned in the offer letter?
The documents may be self attested.
Should a magistrate (executive) or a lawyer(notary) attest the anti-ragging affidavit?
A lawyer would do.
Is there a specific format for the medical certificate?
No. Just a statement from a practicing physician, that the student is of sound mind and body to undertake the programme, would do.
How many days does SBI take to process the loan?
With all documentation in place, loans may be approved and processed within a fortnight.
What are the documents needed for SBI loan?

Will last month's salary slip suffice as of now as proof of resignation?
No. A relieving letter from your organization (hard/soft copy) is essential. You may bring your work experience certificate later.
Where can I view the class schedule and academic calendar?
Is attendance mandatory during induction and orientation?
Yes.
What is the procedure for taking leave?
Students need to write to the Dean's Office for in advance, for taking leave. If the leave is on medical grounds, you will need to provide proof of the same on request. Student absenting from induction/orientation without permission will be penalized heavily by the Dean's Office.
